Avionaut – for safe travel… and the environment

The safety of our children is at the heart of the Avionaut brand. There are no compromises for us in this regard, so despite our excellent crash test results, we are constantly improving our seats. Nevertheless, travelling by car is not all we focus on, as we think about safety on a much broader scale! We are aware that our daily decisions shape the world our children will live in. We want to provide them with a secure future, instead of taking out a loan and leaving nature in a deplorable state. Therefore, we put a lot of effort into optimising our production process and reducing the environmental impact of our operations.

Environmentally-friendly materials

Avionaut car seats are made from environmentally-friendly materials. This includes expanded polypropylene (EPP), which does not contain harmful chemical components such as volatile hydrocarbons. The material is 100% recyclable, so it does not deposit in landfills like other plastics.

In addition to efficient recycling, EPP has another advantage that makes the material eco-friendly. Its low weight reduces fuel consumption both when transporting materials to the plant, and when transporting the finished seats to the points of sale as well as in their daily use by the final purchasers.

Sustainability and best practice

Materials that are easy to recycle are not everything, however. Our concern for the environment manifests itself right from the planning stage of the production process. In order to maximise the use of materials and minimise waste and pollution, we implement modern technologies and production methods in our manufacturing facilities.

Avionaut child seats are manufactured according to the Just In Time technique, which involves the delivery of all raw materials exactly on time and only in the necessary quantity. This limits the amount of waste generated but also saves storage space, while reducing energy consumption. The Just In Time technique works well with the Just In Order and Just In Sequence methods. They allow us to optimise and make the production process more flexible, so that it is a precise response to the orders placed.

It is worth pointing out, however, that Just In Time production is only possible when it takes place in the heart of Europe. So you don’t have to rely on a very long process: from production to the customer. This philosophy contributes to reducing the carbon footprint generated by, among other things, transport of finished products from China. In addition, we do our best to rely on local supply, taking care not only of the environment (transport, EU production standards) but also of the sustainability of the economy by supporting it locally.

We also use the Kanban production control method developed in Japan in our manufacturing facilities. The product sheet used in this case make it possible for processes to be analysed effectively in order to coordinate work of various teams, eliminate unnecessary activities and quickly detect possible problems. We also focus on technical condition of the machinery so that it emits fewer pollutants and consumes less energy, while operating without trouble for as long as possible.

At Avionaut, we do everything we can to ensure that our children can travel safely, while having a secure future. We are a Polish company that aims high. We are inspired by the most modern and environmentally-friendly plants around the world, operating with respect for the environment.
